30 Minute Tour Package

30 minute tours will leave every hour. When the tide is low, a guided tour will be given of the spectacular Joggins Fossil Cliffs. During high tide visitors will be guided through our award-winning gallery. See guided tour schedule for times of 30 minute beach tours.

Grade: Easy terrain, gravel beach accessed via steep slope and staircase, traversing small rocks and a shallow watercourse, walking for short periods. Please wear appropriate footwear (no open-toed shoes, sandals, or flipflops). Tour suitable for all ages.

 

1.5 to 2 Hour Tour Package

As space is limited for this tour, booking a head of time is strongly advised. See guided tour schedule for dates and times.

Grade: Moderate terrain, gravel beach accessed via steep slope and staircase, traversing large rocks and watercourses, walking for moderate periods. Hard hat will be provided and must be worn. Appropriate footwear required (no open-toed shoes, sandals, or flipflops). Children under 10 and people with limited mobility are not recommended to take this tour.

 

4 Hour Tour Package

4-hour executive guided tour of the Classic Section of the Joggins Fossil Cliffs with an experienced Interpreter or Guest Guide. Includes a brown bag brunch/lunch/afternoon snack.

Grade: Difficult terrain, gravel beach accessed via steep slope and staircase, traversing large rocks and watercourses, walking for long periods. Hard hat will be provided and must be worn. Appropriate footwear required (no open-toed shoes, sandals, or flipflops). Children under 10 and people with limited mobility are not recommended to take this tour.

 

Important Information

All participants in a guided tour are required to ensure that they are wearing suitable clothing and footwear (no open-toed shoes) and have with them any medication required and sufficient drinking water to maintain hydration for the duration of the walk. Hard hats will be provided on the 2 and 4 hour tours and must be worn. All Interpreters are qualified in First Aid and CPR and have 2-way radios and mobile phones in case of emergencies. The 4 Hour Tour must be booked in advance. The JFI reserves the right to cancel a guided tour at any time if the weather and/or tides deem the undertaking or continuation of a tour to be dangerous. An alternative date will be offered at no additional cost.

*"depending upon tides" means that we can not present these tours where a high tide time makes the safe undertaking of these tours impossible. These days will not show a 1.5 to 2 hour tour time on the schedule.
