Joggins Wind Turbine Generator Erected

The New Year has brought a dramatic change to the skyline of Joggins. On January 11th, 2008, a 50 kilowatt wind turbine generator, built by Atlantic Orient Canada Inc. and Seaforth Engineering Group Inc. of Dartmouth, was raised in the circular parking area of the Joggins Fossil Centre. This technology, along with several other cutting edge “green” technologies, will aid in eliminating the Centre’s need for power from fossil fuels, thus reducing the Centre's “ecological footprint”.
