Tide Times

Before you head out onto the beach, please consult the tide times. The beach at Joggins has two very distinct zones, which are indicated by geological formations. The main section of the beach closest to the Fossil Centre is accessible usually up to an hour or so before and after high tide. There are some areas which are considered "remote" and have a much smaller window for visitation (2 to 3 hours).

The north point (Coal Mine Point) and the south point (Dennis Point) mark the beginning of these areas, which are considered remote.

To be safe, only access remote areas on our guided tours and call in advance to check tide times.
